Why does content marketing still matter in 2020?

When we’re creating new websites at Artonezero, it’s always a challenge to balance great creative design with effective digital and content marketing.

The digital marketing world is constantly changing, however, we always need to keep re-examining whether we are using the correct methods.

Aside from coming up with products and services to keep your business running smoothly, you also need an effective marketing strategy for your business. Here are some reasons why you need content marketing in your business strategy:

1. Your content feeds Google’s rankings

Writing blog content that answers what people are looking for makes them connect with your website; this can improve your SEO ranking, which helps people find you on Google.

Blog posts that specifically use a variety of on-page SEO tactics can give you more opportunities to rank in search engines and increase customer numbers.

According to the 2009 Edelman Trust Barometer, people need to hear about your company 3-5 times to trust its credibility. If your business is writing content, but infrequently, compared to a business who is writing content more frequently, who are people going to buy from?

2. It amplifies your credibility and authority

Credibility can be developed by posting well-crafted content on your website. You will be seen as an expert, suggesting people are more likely to trust you. They may even share your content too.

Being seen as a credible, authoritative source, not only shines your business in a positive light but also increases your reputation too! Read further about PR below:

3. It helps forge relationships

In addition to this, content marketing can help improve your PR. PR is about building and maintaining relationships, but it relies on having good stories and expert spokespeople to tell them.

Quality content will be useful to your PR agency or team when they’re looking to distribute stories and secure interviews which can also boost your authority and your website’s search ranking.

4. Repeated communication

It’s important to remember that growing your audience with strong content marketing will not necessarily mean sales – you need to convert them into paying customers.

An effective way to do this is to make them sign up to an email newsletter, which means reciprocated communication.

5. Developing your social media presence

If your content is relevant, people will want to read more. Think of it as a YouTube channel; by providing videos that their audience wants to watch, they’re allowing a return on investment.

Customers will want to follow you on social media for quicker access to your content. If it’s that good, they will share it with their community, further increasing your reach. This is good when considering a lead generation strategy

6. It helps create loyalty and trust

This goes back to our first point: writing content that answers people’s questions will help them trust you. If a customer is looking for advertising, provide them with relative content that will keep them hungry for more.

The more content you produce= the more traffic being driven to your site= higher Google rankings.

We hope this article has given you some reasons to use content in your digital marketing strategy. Following some, if not all of these will help you establish your credibility, as well as rank you higher on Google.

What is the right to be forgotten and how does it work under the GDPR?

The GDPR will come into effect later this month on the 25th of May and will change the way we perform email marketing and data handling. The GDPR will mean that the types of data that organisations can store will revolve substantially around consent. This will place much more power into the hands of the individual and will give them much more control over which organisations store what data, and how it is used.
